Each of us has been affected in one
way or another by a devastating illness, the death of a loved one by a
terrible disease, or by some tragic event such as September 11th, Hurricane
Katrina, or the tsunami in Southeast Asia. Maybe you know someone who is down on his or her luck or has lost,
everything including all hope for the future.
Our own personal
lives were affected when our seven-year-old daughter was diagnosed with
juvenile diabetes. We’ll never forget the doctor’s words: “Your lives will
be changed forever.” He was absolutely right, but not in the way that you
might expect. You see, when we were admitted into the hospital there was no
room in the regular pediatric wing, so we were sent to a pediatric cancer
unit. We have always felt that there was a reason we ended up in that
particular place. During our time there, we witnessed the most amazing
courage and determination by the children and families who were staying
there. It was then that we realized that we were the lucky ones. We were
going home soon. Our daughter would have a long and happy life. The children
we were leaving behind wouldn't have that same opportunity.
This experience
did change our lives forever. After that, we never took our
daughter’s life for granted, or the gift we were given that year.

as a way to
share the joyous occasion of your wedding while also supporting your
personally significant cause, whether it is nationally recognized or of a
more regional or local nature. Our goal is to help you share not only the
blessings and joy of your wedding day, but ultimately your love.
If it’s
important to you, it’s important to us. We are therefore proud to
support your cause by contributing two dollars from each truffle sold to the charity
you selected. We believe that if we all get involved we will truly make a
difference.
